Capturing a Bali Birthday Getaway
Celebrating a milestone birthday in an exotic locale is a bucket list item for many travelers. If you and your best friends, family or partner are planning a weekend getaway for an upcoming birthday, it’s sure to be an occasion you’ll never forget, but why not capture the moment in more than just selfies and hurried group shots in front of national landmarks? A vacation photographer can ensure you have a beautiful keepsake to take home, a unique souvenir and experience you’ll treasure for a lifetime.
These lovely ladies were headed to Bali to celebrate their best friend’s 30th birthday, and wanted some memorable, professional photos from the trip. When they contacted Local Lens to help them out, our Bali photographer knew just how to capture their friendship, love and laughter on camera.
Bali offers so much to the intrepid traveler. From lush rainforests to mammoth and intricately-designed temples, relaxing rural regions to bumping urban centers, you can see a little bit of it all in just a short time. Plus, regardless of whether you prefer luxury or budget travel, there are plenty of vendors to cater to either travel style.
Tips for a Bali Birthday Getaway
Whether you’re traveling to Bali for your birthday, any special occasion or no occasion at all, take a few tips and advice to get the most out of your stay in this paradise on Earth!
Love the Local Charm
Bali is not a place to stick to the tourist-driven offerings. All the magic the destination offers is wrapped up in the local way of life, so embrace it! From the wide-spread spirituality to the ancient history, the easy-going hospitality to the unusual but delicious cuisine, you’ll want to dive into this destination head-first!
Live a Little
Bali is a place where you can splurge a bit and not feel guilty about it. Cocktails are plentiful and affordable (with spirits and beer much cheaper than wine — though you should avoid the local spirit, arak, which can make tourists extremely ill). Many travelers visit Bali for the shopping, as you can feel free to (respectfully) haggle in the marketplaces, and find exceptional items to take back home, from antiques to jewelry.
Show Caution, But Have Fun
Yes, you should show some caution about a few things, but overall, have a great time in Bali and don’t be afraid of getting out of your comfort zone a little. Just as you would anywhere, look out for the tourist-targeted scams, but don’t let them keep you from the amazing markets. Opt for bottled water, but don’t miss out on the delicious drinks and food. Wear a helmet if you’re zipping around on a motorbike, but still take the thrilling ride.
Don’t Miss a Moment of Your Bali Vacation
Remember it all, when you enlist your own personal Bali photographer to snap the simple moments. Yes, you’ll have your own photos of the big spots on your itinerary, the can’t-miss items and moments, but what about the simple times that make travel what it is? Holding hands as you cross the street, laughing at your friend’s vacation observations or walking along the beach — these mere minutes give your trip its overall vibe and feel, that unexplainable characteristic that makes a trip either spectacular or just “eh.” Make sure you remember them through the years, with your own Bali photographer.
