Holiday Season in Europe
Europe has no shortage of Christmas markets. Hot beverages, shopping, ice skating and more make for a winter wonderland that enchants and brings even the grumpiest scrooge into the Christmas spirit!
Prague
We love the Christmas markets in Prague because they aren’t as big as those in Germany or Austria, so you can get a great authentic festive atmosphere. The most popular markets are walking distance from one to another, so you can easily hop from one to the other. There is a great selection of Christmas products, gifts, food and drinks accompanied by festive-themed entertainment.
Vienna
Christmas markets in Vienna are tasteful and sophisticated. The shopping is amazing! Expect to see a large market full of luxury handmade gifts like carved soap, delicate glass ornaments, and gourmet baked goods. The only downside, it can get crowded, so go in the early afternoon or later in the evening.
Bruges, Belgium
Hello Christmas fairy tale! Centuries old houses, cobbled streets, and decorations all over the city make for the perfect backdrop for Christmas photos. From atop the main plaza tower you can see the shops full of ornaments, gifts, warm beverages, snacks, and let’s not forget waffles! An ice rink in the center of the square tops it off and makes for the perfect winter day.
Munich, Germany
Munich has over 20 markets for you to explore! There is no shortage of holiday fun to be had. From the main Marienplatz market to little alleyways lined with shops, you’ll have plenty of options to enjoy the holiday season in true Bavarian style. Live music, mulled wine, roasted chestnuts, and traditional events all month make Munich our favorite city to spend the holidays.
