Capturing The Road to Hana Experience in Maui
The road to Hana is a stunning adventure to go on when you are on vacation in Maui. The road to Hana is all about the journey, not the destination, is a MUST DO when on your trip in Hawaii.
The road is about 65 miles, and connects Kahului on the nort shore to the town of Hana in east Maui. Along the way you can expect to find waterfalls, epic viewpoints, jungle trails, quaint cafes, and a ton of great memories.
Below are our TOP spots to stop when going on the Road to Hana tour in Maui. The best part of the tour is that you can go at your own pace, simply rent a care and get out and explore!
Twin Falls
This is the first waterfall stop on the road to Hana. Before walking down to the falls you can enjoy some freshly squeezed sugarcane juice, coconut candy, and locally grown fruit at the Twin Falls Farm Stand. It is an easy, short walk from the parking lot to the lower falls. If you would like to spend more time here, there is a one mile roundtrip hike to the Upper Falls. Daily tours of the farm nearby are available for a longer visit.
Huelo Lookout
The Huelo Lookout is a quaint rest top located in between mile marker 4 and mile market 5. You will quickly learn that the mile markers are just reference points, and have no correlation to the actual number of miles. They’re a bit wonky! Enjoy a view of the east island from here.
Maui Garden of Eden
At mile marker ten on the Road to Hana you’ll find the Garden of Eden. This is a MUST SEE! The Garden of Eden is a beautiful arboretum that was created by Alan Bradbury, Maui’s first ISA certified arborist. It is beautifully landscaped and has great views of the sea.

Tip: pack sturdy shoes and take the short but slippery hike down to the base for a truly wonderful experience and view of the impressive falls.
Seven Sacred Pools
Also known as Ohe’o Gulch, this iconic spot is actually ocated inside the Kipahulu District region of Haleakala National Park. Just 10 miles past Hana Town, you won’t find a more breathtaking setting on Maui. You are bound to be amazed by the gorgeous cascading waterfalls and beautiful freshwater pools that stream one to another, reaching all the way down to the crashing waves of the ocean.
