Powder-white sand, turquoise water, and some of the world’s most famous sunsets — Boracay packs a lot of paradise into ten square kilometers. Here’s where to go, and when.

The spots
1. White Beach
Best light: sunset ·
Terrain: 4km flat white sand. The main event — four kilometers of powdery sand across Stations 1, 2, and 3. The paraw (traditional double-outrigger sailboat) drifting past at golden hour is the signature Boracay shot (see Post 3).
2. Willy’s Rock
Best light: sunset, low tide ·
Terrain: shallow shore outcrop. A volcanic formation off Station 1, topped by a small Marian shrine. Arrive about an hour before sunset; at low tide you can walk out. It’s a shrine — keep it respectful.
3. Puka Beach
Best light: morning or sunset ·
Terrain: coarser shell sand. The quieter “anti–White Beach” at the north tip — shell-flecked sand, real waves, and no cover charge. Best in the morning before the island-hopping boats arrive.
4. Diniwid Beach
Best light: sunset ·
Terrain: small cove (cliff path) · A 200-meter cove, a ten-minute cliff path north of Station 1 — White Beach’s sunset without the crowd.
5. Bulabog Beach
Best light: daytime ·
Terrain: east coast, windy · The kitesurfing hub — colorful kites over turquoise water in the windy season.
6. Mount Luho
Best light: golden hour ·
Terrain: drive/e-trike up. The island’s highest viewpoint, for a panorama over the beaches and coves.
