Walk the Royal Route
For the full historic approach, start at Floriańska Gate and walk through the Old Town along Kanonicza Street — one of Kraków’s oldest, prettiest streets — all the way up to Wawel. This is the same path Polish kings and queens once processed for coronations, and it’s a photogenic route in its own right.
💡 Local tip: Come at golden hour for warm light on the castle’s stone and a quieter hill than midday. The interior Royal State Rooms use timed tickets — book ahead, especially in summer.
