April to June and September to October are the sweet spots — pleasant weather, clear light, warm-enough seas, and far fewer day-trippers than peak summer.
July and August are hot and packed; the island’s narrow lanes and viewpoints heave with day-trippers, so shoot early morning or late afternoon. Winter is peaceful but quiet, with many hotels and some boat services closed.
Beat the day-trippers
💡 Local tip: Capri fills with day-trippers off the ferries from late morning to late afternoon. If you can, stay overnight — the island transforms once the last boats leave, and you’ll have the Piazzetta and viewpoints in soft, near-empty light.
